Ironhorse is on vacation for a week so with the year-end posts just around the corner, I figured I'd get started - and since the 2017 annual finds thread is not available I'll save them here. It was a good year, mainly Fall for us, and I hope we still have a couple of weeks left to dig to add another keeper or two.

That is a hell of a lot of killer button buddy! I love that 1812 officers button. Some killer coins as well. You’ve quietly had a great year. Hope you get out a few more times. Should I buy a Deus? Seems as though you did great at finding those smaller low conductors.

What’s that in the last picture?

If you notice someone stalking you, it's just me trying to discover your hunting sites! :icon_thumleft:

Yes it's true, I posted the Rev stuff but not a lot else, but it has been a great Fall. Didn't we go $100 this year? :tongue3:

As for the Deus I only switched part way through the Fall. Has it's positives and negatives, but I like it and plan to stick with it. It's definitely a sensitive detector, but maybe not a depth demon so a bit of a trade off there. Years ago going from the Explorer II to the SE, and especially no longer being able to use the early stock coils, I was never 100% happy. I'm sure wasn't used to digging so much iron but have got a fair bit better. It's very different than a Minelab so it was a bit of a risk dropping near 2k Canadian, but now I have two great detectors so all good.

Christ, I forgot all of your killer finds this year. So after I regained my composure and wiped away my tears, here’s my favorite three. 1. The older, hand made Jews harp (all the way left). That has some real age. 2. The hand etched French anchor button 3. The silvered 1812 button. 3. The early royal artillery.....

Joking and counting aside, you killed it with the rev buttons man. Cheers, and I hope you get at a couple more hunts weather permitting

You can bet I'll be trying!

Very nice assortment of beautiful old coins and relics! :occasion14:

Awesome year! Too many great finds to pick a favorite for me. Congrats!!

I was feeling a bit sorry for you this season, gee just a few buttons. Sandbagging digger:laughing7:
Very impressive digs, so many really stand out. Congrats.

Great finds man! You had a very productive year. Love that 60th button, reminds me I got to find my first 1812 officers. Best of luck in 2018!

It's funny how the best posts of the year are quietly moved to the ''posts cemetery'' . I think we should be allowed to make one post with current year finds without being moved.Usually the year end posts are the longest ones and take much more time and preparation. All that, to be dumped somewhere in the parallel universe where no one will read them. Honestly, it removes all the motivation to make one. I personally don't see any inconvenience in leaving them at their original section.

I'm ok with it. Was the intended purpose and might get seen in a month. lol I had it on the best finds for a few days and asked Jeff to switch it over to Today's finds, after see his pinned post about annual finds.

I agree. This was a great post, showing a lot of work and well documented. Getting great feedback, then moved to the graveyard... Should be kept in Today's Finds until played out, then archived here.

All I can say is "WOW". Those items you have found are truly great. Things that you will never find out in Oregon. I do enjoy so many of these post.

I really had hoped IH and I would be digging until Christmas and I could have a few more pictures to add, and it was really looking that way, but along with many others on this forum next week the cold snap happens and the door will begin to close fast. So looks like I'm down to not much more than a week to go - so will do a couple of mini digs and hopefully a full day or two as soon as IH gets back... and maybe yank another keeper out of the ground to put into the detecting graveyard. :happy2:

Some beauty buttons buddy. Was there to see a few pop out!!

Yes, I was happy with the three I popped on those Summer hunt and guess it was a sign of things to come.
