I was very happy to find this forum and know there are a lot of people like me out there. I buy mostly at estate sales with a little Goodwill and garage sale mixed in, and I sell mostly on ebay with a little craigslist mixed in. I deal in vintage "man" stuff like classic toys, technical equipment, sporting goods, militaria, and so on.

Last year I set a goal of making $1000 a month on ebay, after the purchase cost of the item but before final value fees. I almost made it, with $10K for the year.

So, this year, I've started getting to the sales an hour before they open the first day and standing in line with the other dealers. I'm trying to focus on higher value stuff, trying to find $50 items that I can sell for $250 instead of $1 items I can sell for $25. And I went through all the items I sold to find the items and estate sale companies I do the best on, to focus me even more.

In March I set a record with $1400, and then this month I am banging in at $1900! :headbang:Woo hoo! Just had to brag and get myself motivated for next month... I hope it doesn't jinx me.

Way to go, PJ! That is pretty decent income. Are you doing this full time or are you moonlighting like me? By the way, why do you not factor in the final value fees? Presuming you use PayPal, you are giving up almost 13% to eBay/PayPal so that $1,900 is really just over $1,650. That is still pretty good but, for me at least, $250 is a significant amount.

Nice job! Sadly, April for me was even lower than February. :BangHead:

Nice work! My goal was $500 gross and I hit 600.

Thanks everyone!! Hang in there Bassmaster and way to go Justin!

Tallone, I look at the number that way only because I started with a spreadsheet with what I paid for something, what I sold it for, and the difference, which I set my goal on. I could look at it after ebay just as easily, but I can't do a lot about their fees so I just block them out, lol.

I just got back from a sale and I am procrastinating with this instead of listing auctions....
