Well, not exactly my find. I have spent many hundreds of hours of my life looking for artifacts. My favorite piece is this one that my dad (a high school math teacher) found in the Oden (Arkansas) High School parking lot around 1970. The parking area was not paved and periodically they brought in loads of river rock from the nearby Ouachita River. He looked down as he stepped out of his truck and saw this. Picked it up and gave it to me. He had zero interest in artifacts but knew that I hunted them.
I just call it a celt. If anyone can give me more info on it that would be appreciated. Two things that strike me about it: 1. Great example of a piece of found rock being a great starting point for a nice symmetrical tool. 2. Striking sharpness and symmetry to the edge.
