Havent done any hunting in my backyard since March (when I got the ace250) picked these out in about 1/2 hr tonight...the nickel is a 1942 with no mint mark ,I wonder if it is one of the regular alloy types before the war types were issued...it sure doesnt clean up like silver (any ideas)value?)...the wheat penny is a 1955 and the quarter is obvious ...HH !!!

Nice digs JD - the '42 "plain" (no mint mark) and the '42 D were minted in copper nickel. The '42 P and S were of the copper/silver/manganese ("war nickel") variety. That Washington looks to be in decent shape as does the '55. Great coinage either way...

Way 2 go jersey devl, nice digs. I'd be hitting your yard alot more seeing how its close to home, ha ha. No that is cool though, I have hit mine so much it looks like the moon but just can't pull any silver out of it, just way to much junk, but some good junk anyway. Well good luck and keep at it there is probably alot more there for you to find. HH JYD

Check that 55 for double die! Could be some good $$$$ there! Let us know. jgas
