I am very new and green to CRH but I have had excellent luck to say the least....I have just been CRH for a little over 3 months now. I am only checking what banks have on hand--not ordering. I have had pretty good luck to say the least. My totals so far to date are 1 Walking Liberty (1917), 7 Franklins, 11 64's, and roughly 90 40%ers. All i do when i get a roll is "edge it." Should i be doing more? Am i missing any coins by doing this that i should be pulling out Can i find any silver coins from mint sealed rolls? I only mess with halves...
11-7-12From one bank i bought all $35 dollars worth of halves which were displayed in one of the old coin holders ( i could see every coin sitting in the tray). I looked into the bank tray they were sitting in and knew I had hit the jackpot... for only buying 70 coins i hit 14 40% and 3 90%.
1-4-12 i hit a bank and they told me that they had 350 in bank rolled halves. I said i would take them. Immediately I knew it was going to be good based on what the rolls looked like. I had never seen bank rolls this old and dusty in my life. They said Worcester, Mass, and the Half dollar was written in a cursive writing. ( Anyone seen those?) They practically fell apart when i tried opening them. I ended up with 23 40% and only 1 90% but it was one of my better days.
But my favorite bank that i have hit roughly 4 times ($100 a pop) to run them dry of bank rolls has produced the 1917 Walking Liberty, 3 Franklins, 5 64s, and around 25 40%ers. It was like Christmas everytime i was there....now they are on to the mint rolls that they have ordered.
On 1-9-13 and 1-10-13 I am traveling for work and have a long list of very small towns that i will be chekcing. I have already called ahead so i know where i will be stopping. I am looking to probably pick up around $1300 in bank rolled coins from about 20 locations... all very small banks.
Thanks for any help or advice in advance!
