Well...2007 was a busy one and I am sure you've all been anxiously waiting for my 2007 report.

Well, okay maybe not, but here it is anyway.

Unfortunately, about mid June my hard drive crashed so I lost some information from between 02-06-2007 and 06-23-2007, but not much mainly just bank visit information. Either way here is what I do know.

First off, total bank visits: 461 (221 different banks), (does not include the 4.5 months of missing data)

Note: All per box/bag(loose) totals are the find rate per box
pennies: values are per 2500 pennies
nickels: values are per 2000 nickels
diems: values are per 2500 dimes
quarters: values are per 2000 quarters
halves: values are per 1000 halves

Note: bag totals include found coins, loose change, etc. so some of the totals are skewed due to found Canadian coins (esp dimes/quarters).

Total coins searched: 1,907,896
Total face value of coins searched = $144,741.37
Total weight of coins searched = 6972.969 kilograms or 7.67 tons of coins. :)

That is an awesome amount of facts & figures :o , your due dilligence should be commended!!! Your finds are also amazing.

I think that box of nickels that yielded so many of your silver war nickels is remarkable!

Congratulations on all your hard work & finds & continued success this year, just don't use northern Wi. as a dump location... LOL :D :D

Holy Mackeral GMan, that is alot of searching. Good Going.

Make sure you back up your hard drive this year. I found the neatest thing to use is one of those USB sticks. I have a 4 gig one that cost me just under $40 and I back up all my work information plus my important home pc stuff. It is the size of an ink pen and I sometimes carry it in my pocket.

Happy Hunting,

Scott (Mich)

I had one before my hard drive crashed, I just quit using it religiously in February. Lulled to sleep by lack of an incident for a long time I guess.

Yes, I was anxiously waiting for it...and you didn't disappoint. You did so much searching you trickled over into '08!

Pause to take a breath [whew!] and pace yourself because '07 will be tough to top!

Great to see the report. 21 Canadian $2 coins?! That's over $42 USD. I guess you'll have some spending money when you visit Canada next.

That is an incrediblelist of stats. I think I'll pick up somebags of coins soon. Do you do all the searching yourself or do you have any help? To anyone that is interested here is a site that will give you the current value of silver coins both USD and CAN coins.

http://www.coinflation.com/

Also do many banks have bags or boxes of half dollars? If so what is the price generally for a bag? Thanks a bunch,
-K

Half dollars are hit and miss, but most banks can order some for you if you ask them to. A box is typ. $500. Bags vary by bank, $100, $500, or $1000 or whatever they have on hand from what I have seen.

I do all my searching myself with the exception of rare help from my kids (6 and 9).
