Well, like most of the country, the midwest had a pretty rough winter,
so I placated myself by readings posts by the lucky ones who could
still get out to detect. This last week however, was excellent and I
managed to get out for about 12 hours over that 5 day period.
My haul; a lot of junk. Pop tabs, scrap metal, junk and in one sandbox,
a maxwell house coffee can.
Got to work last night, (for those who don't know, I work a local
C-store) looking forward to looking at all the change that passes through
my hands.
At one point, I looked down and saw a very dirty dime, that I thought
might be silver, so I scooped em all up and started looking. Sure enough,
there was the edge of a silver dime. I thought, cool at least a rosie. Nope,
was my first ever merc!
Later in the evening, I ran out of quarters, so I went and got some from
the safe. After opening the roll and dumping them in the drawer, I heard
that beautiful *ting* we all know. Looking down, I picked up not one,
not two, but THREE silver washingtons!
Let this be a lesson to all, if you come into my C-Store, make sure
you check your change. If you don't, I certainly will!
p.s. The dirty dime I saw was just that...a dirty 90's clad dime lol
