I thought it would be fun to post my 1st arrowhead. I was around 10 years old and remember running what seemed like miles to my dad and church youth director to show them what I proudly found! This is the one that started my passion for this great past time. I am now 41 years old and I can honestly say I still have the same flipping stick my dad made my all those years ago. Anyone want to post their 1st artifact or arrowhead? Fun to see and hear the story of how it happened.

Actually, the first artifact I ever found was a piece of pottery followed by a couple of scrapers. My first point was a beauty of an Adena. I don't have a picture of it but maybe I can get one posted later.

Great story Paleo. The point below was my first whole artifact. I became interested in artifact hunting after I had enrolled in an anthropology program a few years ago in college. I got to do a field dig and was intrigued with the artifacts we discovered. Believe it or not, It had never even struck me that I could go out and find them myself. Later I was looking on YouTube and ran across Richardsrockhouse. I decided to give it a try. I went out several times and was not having any luck. I talked to people about it and they told me I was wasting my time and that they had all been found lol. My persistence paid off. I was out creek hunting with my dad after a hard rain and found this laying right on top of the rockbar (a little over 1 1/4 inch). It was a rush I will never forget. Me and my dad hooted and hollered for probably five minutes. I think it took four or five months to find that guy. Btw, I was never really able to pinpoint a point type. Any idears?

As far as style I can't help ya on that...1point is better at that stuff than me, but i will give it a whirl and say it is a downright dandy looking point, the colors are really cool. Thanks for posting story and picture...my 1st means more to me than any other point in my collection. I was able to get my 4 and 2 year old out last year with my wife and my parents. It was special having 3 generations of my family looking for flint and finding a few artifacts...my Dad scored that day with a dandy pinkish nebo hill point. I will post some pics from that special day. We all had a good time except for pulling a few ticks off my little boys! Thanks Again centraliowa.

Here she is my first complete point I had found a good handfull of other artifacts before this point revealed itself barely sticking out of the waters edge sandbar .I might have handled and admired it the most still remember the day and rewarding feeling since I set out that day in search of artifacts .The bottom haft is very straight across have yet to find a point like it fun post PaleoHunter.
