I had about a hour to kill this afternoon so I headed out to a old school grounds the produced some nice coins in the past.

Over the years, I have found quite a few gold rings in water but they were all 10K and 14K and only a couple gold rings on land.

This is my 1st 18K ring, land or water.

I was using my T2 SE with the stock coil I got a repeatable tone that sounded deep.

At about 6-7" this is what I saw

THAT KARAT MARKING LOOKS OLD ..

Thanks guys and gals.

I too was wondering the same thing about the karat marking.

I figure it is a woman's ring because of the small size, barely fit on the tip of my pinky, seems too nice for a child's ring...maybe a wedding band.

Or could it be a Nun's ring?? Do they wear rings??? Married to Jesus or something like that? It was a old catholic school at one time.

When were these wide and thicker bands popular? Any guesses as to the age?
