I posted this coin a few years back when I found it. There was some doubt by quite a few of it really being an 1877, could not get a good pic of the date.
I think I finally got a good pic of the date today.

Awesome find and congrats! You can see clearly now that it is 1877 way to go!

That awesome! What do you suppose the value on that coin is, being so rare yet having some condition issues?

I really do not know....wish I did ???

Looks like 1871 to me.....just kidding, clearly 1877. :icon_thumleft:

Totally agree it is an 1877. Needs to be cleaned with toothpicks dipped in warm hydrogen peroxide. Take your time. This is one coin you DON'T want to mess up on. But it really does need some tender loving rejuvenation. Will probably take about an hour on each side. Just accept that slow is better for this coin.

i think thats pretty obvious lol! good find!

Reminds me of the 22 Plain Wheat I found in the take a penny jar at a 7-11 a few years ago...I sold it for 900.00 two weeks after I found it, the guy had it slabbed, and it graded EF40...I was spot on with my price..

Congrats on your find.
