Nice find..............I hadn't previously thought to keep my eye out for vintage pipes, but now I will. There is always something to be learned on this forum. Now the pessimist in me wonders how long before Ebay becomes even more PC and outlaws the sale of tobacco items as it aids in underage smoking or causes cancer. LOL (laughing, but I am kinda serious I am afraid.)

ill do free shipping if its still for sale next week. i know sometimes it helps.
i found a web site selling estate pipes for $80 like this one so we will see.

I just found a bag of pipes and holder at the goodwill bins, will post pics soon :)

Pipes were once very common here, but not so anymore.

Years ago, you could buy 10 used pipes for $2.

Then, for whatever reason, they started spiking in price at estate auctions. I'm not talking about high end meershaum pipes, but common run of the mill stuff started bringing CRAZY prices. I rarely see a used pipe these days, and couldn't tell you the last time I saw one.

As an interesting side note, a guy I know recently asked me to keep my eye out for good pipes, and then condescendingly told me he would pay up to $5 each for a certain brand, but only if they were nice "with no split ends or crushed tips".

I bet he would.

I keep smiling and letting him think I am just a dumb flea market guy that only deals in $2 auction boxes. It is kind of fun playing along.

BTW, the pipes he is looking for are running $40 to $100 on ebay.

So any bids? I did look for the ebay listing but did not see it and there are a ton of pipes on E-Bay.

no bids yet, but 88 views and 2 watcher. most likely from allot of people here on t-net.
everything i posted last week i put outrages prices on. there are people on ebay that buy crazy old stuff for way to much all the time.
that the beauty of ebay.
if it sells that's great. if not, its easily relisted for a good selling price the next week.
i really need to list more stuff. i have a ton of inventory, i just have to find the time/motivation to list it.
i have sold two watches for $307 this week, and i now know i sold one of them too cheap for a buy it now.
new rule for me, no more (buy it now) for items i don't fully understand.
total investment $16 and some time junk hunting.
ill update this thread with the selling price when it sells.

Nice bulldog churchwarden. I didnt see a ebay link. care to pm me with it?

update.
yes the 29.99 starting bid was high, it was Worth a try. i relisted it for .99 cents same shipping cost.
it started a small bidding war that ended at $27.51
I'm happy with that.

church sales by far seem to be the best type of garage sale, they don't gouge you like a lot of people do now
