One of those items looks like an OLD barrel tap. Pretty good find. Tennessee digger

Yeppers, it's a barrel tap. Really neat find  The other item is some type of tool, and I'm sure the 'Tool Time' crew will be posting soon with an ID. Part of it had a ruler on one end because it looks like a 5 and 6, plus measuring lines on the non-business end. :) Breezie

I know you are proud. It is such joy to enjoy the good times with family. Joy to you both.

Thank you :) Had a blast! It was 4 kids (14, 11, 10 and 4) and myself. Was in the field for 6 hours! We actually lost track of time when we found a horse plow. To bad it's going to rain tomorrow :(

Regarding the unidentified large brass object:
I notice that the ruler-like markings on the thick brass bar are in "tenths," which is not typical for measuring inches, but is typical for various Metric measurements. The size (and thickness) of your unknown brass object seems wrong for measuring a distance (like millimeters or centimeters). So, it seems more like a Kilogram-weighing Beam Scale, as shown in the photo below.

The way to know for sure is to check your object's markings against an inches-ruler and a millimeters/centimeters ruler. That will tell you whether it is part of a Beam Scale (weighing-scale) or a distance-measuring "ruler."

Thank you for all the valuable information!! It looks exactly like it! I'm measuring to be sure. How exciting!
