MXT vs. XTerra 70 ..didnt happen.

Re: MXT vs. XTerra 70 ..coming soon!

It should be interesting. A lot of people will be curious to your results. I hope you use a a small nugget as one of your tests. Which has better iron determination using VDI numbers?

Thanks Willy

yes pleas do that test. I have a MXT and have Benn considering selling it for a X-70 or a sov and would like to hear how it holds up to the X-70.

Ended up selling both units before there could be a head to head.. also, it was non-stop rain. Sorry. ..Willy.
...Willy in the minelab on X70 you said the Garrett S. gold & the white 4900 was better than the X70 and the Explorer was better than all of them or vice versa please clear up your statement for me...==Jim==

Re: MXT vs. XTerra 70 ..didn't happen.

If you were to read my post correctly, you'd see that I made no such claim re. the Explorer, nor did I state that the Gold Stinger or 4900d were superior to the other detectors. I pointed out that one of the best detectorists I'd known used said detectors. I was pointing out how success is not necessarily dependent on the price/complexity of the detector. If that's not clear enough, then I can't help ya. ..Willy.

...I read you now that is why i like the Sovereign not because it is heavy but because it is easy to use and the same with the Eureka they find what i want. And do not get into all that complicated learning curve that people seem to like. But i did see that in one place on TN that you said the Eureka was not a good gold detector.. And yes success is how good you know and use your detector.. =Jim=

Re: MXT vs. XTerra 70 ..didn't happen.

I don't think I've ever said the Eureka Gold is not a good detector (for gold prospecting), but on the AMDS forum and on Steve's detector recommendations for prospecting, the Eureka wasn't scoring very high marks. Evidently, it seems to be optimized for the middle of it's 3 selectable frequencies. For coin hunting it would be, more or less, a washout. From what I can gather, the XTerra 70 w. HF DD coil would probably math or exceed the Eureka's performance on gold. ..Willy.
