The MXT is definitely one of my favorites. However, you may find the 8X14 to be a chore when it comes to swinging.

Here we go
what a loop it goes deep... I have a test nugget in the ground a bout 3 in a half too four feet deep and about as big as a garbage can lid and it finds it in pin piont mode about 3 foot from center you can tell their's some there, when swung over, it reads a +94 buck still pick it up over a foot off the ground with a mxt max loop the mxt is now equevalent to the 5900 with a 15 inch loop becouse off the non motion on the 5900 it's a little better but it ends there . the abillty to work under high wires is exsellent even with th max no problems. and the abilty to track the ground, those are the two that set it above the 5900, the mxt in prospet mode the mxt opperates in v.c.o pin piont mode witch is so close too all metal non motion it's amazing when a piece of copper was found the sound it made you gave an I dea of how deep it was low grouwl is deepest when in pin pionting screaming for boody muder, surfice. white's famus "vdi" which every one copied would show + high numbers bingo float copper the iron grunt works like a champ. after finding a chuch of float copper I began too "here's a trick" I circled out ward only to find a bunch of metal targets, and when in prospecting mode crank up the s.a.t, and you can find it's easier to Isolate multable targets under the big loop.... the test nugget is a big piece of comglomerate copper, it sparcked when I struck it with a shovelle so I left it there for a practice piece. It was found with a garret box loop one of several the depth maltypler found in that area. the 5900 can find this nugget with the 950 loop the mxt can't find it with a 950 or a dd8by14...never tried a spider 12 but mxt max you will. If your detector can't find this piece I would not use that detector out in the field I would stay home naa just kidding but it would be a lot of work for nothing...A quoate from the big guy him self "time is the only thing you don't get back why swing adetector that is not up to task"...
