The 6x10DD is not going to be the best depth but separates very well, I would get the White's D2 coil (10"DD coil) and that coil running +2 gain in relic mode I can get dimes at 10"+ with some being at a full 12" before. The detech ultimate 13" coil is a great depth coil but being big it's best on open grassy area's, it does cover more area per swing as well and still separates good for such a big coil. You can't really compare a detector with a big coil to one with a lot smaller coil, the depth is going to be very different depending on what coil you will use. The MXT should do better when you have lots of iron around, just remember to slow way down if your in heavy trash as the MXT is pretty good at picking out the good stuff and that 6x10DD will be good for extra heavy trash area's but my D2 coil stays on 95% of the time. I'm always afraid to pass up the really deep targets and that's usually the old good stuff, relic mode trigger forward is how I run mine as the relic mode trigger forward seems to be a little deeper than the coin and jewelry mode it just comes up as button or buckle instead of coins, I mostly go by sound and VDI's but once you get 8"+ or deeper I only go by sound because the VDI's are not always spot on when the detector is barely picking up the target. Those really deep whisper targets are almost always the good old deep stuff, make sure to have a real good set of headphones as with a cheap set you'll miss some of those whisper targets and make sure the threshold hum is barely audible. I got a silver quarter on edge at 8" last year with the 6x10. It was also near a chain link fence - I was shocked. It's been a good coil for me.

Wingmaster, Thanks for your post. Sounds like I will need to buy the D2 coil, but at $200+, ouch. I will be going back to my go to place that I have found plenty of wheats and silver. The only thing is I have not been finding anymore with my AT Pro and I am hoping that I will start finding more with the MXT, if the 6x10 will get me to the depth where they are. First I will try c and j program and then the relic. Happy Hunting

Johnnoh, Sounds encouraging. I can use a good hit to convince me that my MXT purchase was a good investment. Happy Hunting.

I got my mxt about a month ago and have found coins around 9inches with the 10in. dd coil.I am going to get a6×10 coil to lighten it up a bit.The mxt is a very good machine with great depth.
