I must say that I like my MXT 300. I had to fly to Oklahoma City to go to my in laws at Guthrie, OK over x-mas. My wife and kids drove out prior to me flying because of a death in the family. So I packed light and did not take a bag to be checked that my ACE-250 could go in... So I found a MD dealer and bought my self an x-mas gift after talking with the owner for a couple of hours and told him the machines I was looking at. I never had the MXT on the radar so to speak (hence the long conversation with the owner).
To make a longer story short, I got the standard 9.5" coil with it and bought the 5" smaller coil. I plan on sending in for the special offer that came with the machine to get a pinpointer, headphones, and my choice of coils for 99 dollars more (I forget the name of the coil, but its a $250 one). My question is this: Coin and jewelry hunting, which is the better coil to use? I know that for trashy area's to use the smaller coil and such...
When I was down in OK, I went to a place called "The Flats". I found a ton of pull tabs and some clad in the few short hours that I had to hunt. Tricky part now is learning all the VDI numbers. Don't have that with the Ace... But I will say that the MXT 300 is one sweet machine.
Thanks for looking and HH...
