Musket trigger?

Found this at a War of 1812 training post. Looks like it would be the trigger to a gun. I have found tons of mini and round balls at this site. This site was used to test munitions. Any ideas?

Does not look to be a trigger piece. Too rough on all the edges.

No, shape is all wrong. It doesn't appear to be iron either, although the pics may be deceiving.
