Musket Rifle Medal ID please

Well, I manged to get out today and hit this new spot. Its in an old section of town where alot of cool stuff happened. I found this interesting medal its quite cool I think. Does anyone know this? Thanks!

They have been using that since 1943 and still use it today.

the earlier ones are marked sterling on the back. the newer ones are base metal.

Yes, a Combat Infantry Badge and not modern day. Could be a WWII by looking at the reverse and the way it attached to the uniform. Neat find and HH, Mike

Monty, I believe you are thinking of these

The badge you found is a WWII US Army Combat Infantry Badge. The pin style is typical of British made US military badges. It was common for US soldiers to purchase locally made patches and insignia for their uniforms while overseas. WWII US made Combat Infantry Badges are usually made of sterling silver with two post style clutches. The post war US made badges were usually not sterling silver. I cant really make out the makers mark, but if you google the name, they were probably located in England during WWII.

I would have to agree with Jordan. I believe the backmark includes Ltd (Limited), the British version of incorporated.
