Musket Balls, Buttons, Shoe Buckle Pieces, and a What's It????

Went to a site that I have been finding many musket balls and 18th century items. I believe this site might have been some sort of Rev War camp from all the dropped balls. Can anyone tell me what the item is that I'm holding in the photo's? Can't seem to figure it out. It looks like it's about the size of the tip on a flint lock, but there are no threads inside the holed end. Any idea's?

Re: Musket Balls, Buttons, Shoe Buckle Pieces, and a What's It???? (UPDATED)

I've added pictures of another button I found today. It's been soaking in peroxide, but clearly needs some more sessions. I'm not sure of the age, but it was found within 5 ft. of 2 musket balls. I feel like I see the number 5 on it, but it is probably just my imagination.
