I found a musket ball in the woods of a Connecticut property. It appears to have some damage on it, but I'm not sure if the damage is severe enough to be considered fired? (Most rounds I've dug are obviously fired due to them being mostly flat) I've taken measurements of the ball and it seems to range .6265" to .6410" in diameter. Is there any way to find info on this?

.62 caliber is the same bore as a 20 gauge shotgun. The last two pictures make me think it isn't a musket ball, but rather a
shotgun slug, due to what appears to be flattened sides. I believe it has been fired, bullets at terminal velocity many times
aren't damaged a lot upon impact.
