Can anyone tell me if this is a musket ball or something newer. It was found in a field where previous French war finds were located. It is lead and is approximately .5 to .75 of an inch in diameter. It has a seam and a small indentation. Thanks...

if it was'nt lead what would it be, I just tossed one just like it in the trash, because it was'nt lead!!!!
Maybe I should'nt have done that???!!!

It sure looks like a musketball.

The old musketballs I find are coated with a white patina. Did you clean it romeo?

Hopefully it's a musketball......Cool ! Man, I wish I was back in the good ol' maritimes to do some detectin' ! Romeo, there is also a place in the Bridgetown area known as "Blood Creek", where the French and British skirmished way back when....You may want to check it out as well. Cheers and good hunting!

Blood Creek...I spent the 1st few years of my life living in Paradise and remember swimming at Blood Creek...thanks for the tip!

Yep...they are haying there now so in a day or so the grass will be just right for detecting.
