✅ SOLVED musical reed or heating element? Something else?

Hi all,

I've posted this on a facebook group and nobody has been able to positively I.D. it yet. I've had suggestions like music box piece, harmonica reed and old asbestos heating element. It seems to be made of lead except for the rivets which seem to be brass. If it was iron it would have been history a long time ago here in Louisiana. Thanks for any help!
