Heading back to my colonial farm permission in central VA , split my time between detecting (including expanding the trash pit I recently found ) and sifting thru a hillside of a newly found Native American camp). Found my second wine seal with exact same logo as the other one I found. Looks like it is initials to a local resident at the time from early to mid 1700s The stone was deep in the pit so most likely dates to early to mid 1700s like the rest of all the finds. Any info on this ? Glass? It has a makers mark on the back but can’t make it out ? Are they normally marked ? It was found in the setting pictured . Piece of a brooch ? Any info would be Appreciated. The block A with Tin back was found at another area of the 700 acre farm where there seems to be another house site. Pretty cool binocular piece which I believe is CW? Cut silver was also found in sidewall of the trash pit as were the pipe stems and small pewter spoon. Very excited and privileged to have access to this site as it’s one of the oldest I have dug and have found relics back to the early 1600s and now quite interested in NA artifact hunting as well.
