Multiple coins from one hole?

I've only had this happen twice. The first was when a kid was watching me detect. I got a signal and dug a 1914 Barber dime. I told the kid you got to scan the hole in case there's another in the hole, well I ended up with a 1912 V-nickel. Which surprised me cause it was the first time I ever got 2 old coins in the same hole (also the last time). The other was under a clothes line. I dug over 50+ modern ate up zinc pennies, there were still more, but I got tired and left the rest and filled the hole. Anybody have these types of experiences please post your reply.

I'v gotten Lucky a Few Times with Mulitiple Targets in one hole. Once I found a small gold ring in a park, with 2 indian head cents in the same hole, once a Indian Head, a 1/4 K diamond ring. a nail, a piece of foil & a V nickle all in one hole, in a drained lake bottom. My other Memorable one was 3 wheats & a 1943 Steel Cent (only way I know it was a steel cent was the Size. Only way I found it was the Copper coins in the same hole). I know I'v found other Multiple drops, however. You'v got me beat with the 50+ in one hole.

Yep, found the rest of those rolled pennies you left behind, got almost 3 rolls out of there. Right next to a tree about 2" deep, the paper gone but the pennies, aRGGHhh! Two "caches" come to mind, one a series of wheaties, 9 that were stacked vertically at a very remote and seemingly unlikely spot, all from the 30's. Another in town, a series of IH coins, 11 together in a park at the bottom of a hill. Clad comes in bunches all the time in a lot of places, beaches and playgrounds, but especially those 5th of July hunts when the party/fireworks watchers get up and pick up the blankets and whatever coionage tends to fall into one spot.

:lol .Personally, I probably would have gotten tired of digging Zincs too. ;D Sounds like your into the Older coins like I am. Whats the OLDEST you Found so far ? mine was an early 1700's Irish Half Penny.

I pulled a 1940 wheatie and a 1941 merc dime out of the same hole in my neighbors yard last summer. First and last for me also

I think my best one was a 1907 O barber dime, with two 1903 Indian heads and two 1909 wheat cents in the same hole. Was my first barber dime I dug up. Another one that comes to mind is a 1942 Mercury dime and 1937 wheat cent. That was my first one. My most recent one was this past summer, hunting in a cemetery, I got 5 Indian heads from the same hole, ranging from 1880-1891. Biggest one was a ring of new zinc pennies and a few Canadian pennies someone obviously planted in a ring around a tree. Not so much as one hole as a continuous hole.

At least for me it depends on weather your talking about modern coins or old coins.
On modern coins it has happened quiet often when you find a place with lots of coin targets.
But as for old money, my best probably is a few wheats in one hole.

Just a few weeks ago at an old park, I pulled a quarter and two nickels out of the same hole. A few months ago I was detecting a playground and found several pennies and a dime. All clad, although the nickels were 1961 and 1964 - the quarter was 1965 :(

I quite frequently get more than one coin from the same hole. Most people have more than one coin in their pocket when they sit, lie, fall whatever down to lose them. cladius.

Yeah, you gotta love those hillsides where people sit and kids love to roll down. And you're not kidding about the 5Th of July-never failed to find at least 15-20 $ in change, not including $1's, $5's, and the occasional ring. Have 2 of those places I hunt, but the competition is fierce.

found a stack of coins today on a sledd hill?go figure a penny on top about an inch deep in the ground was like wow big deal scanned it a dime pops out then two more all on top of each other ?same thing in the the parking lot a month earlier about 1.06 in clad in the same hole thought i was lossing my mind found the penny 1st then it filled with water then found the nickel kept getting signals and digging and bailing then then quarters started jumping out of the hole 2 feet over found 75 cents in quarters in almost the same way weird cars moving the stuff around snow plows etc. any way need to up grade my machine need a TROY !!!!!!!! ;D

same thing hapens to me darren right on the edge of that silver period
cant get past the clad "boundry",YET! ;D come on daddy needs a new troy x series
forget the shoes!!!!come on tax return!

I'm relatively new and the first coins I found were fairly recent issue and there was about seven coins in one spot like someone had just emptied their pocket. Now when I dig and find a coin I go back over it just in case. JIM

I'm sure that bac in the 70's and 80's it was pretty commond to get old coins in the same hole,
New money in the same hole is pretty common now.
A friend of mine and I were hunting a church yard 3-4 weeks ago and I was not getting much,
a few coins and he also, (I use whites DFX he uses Whites XLT) when he suddenly says to me
he, I have a quarter over here.....
So like the guy I am, I went over checked the signal and sure enough it read quarter, so
I took my screwdirver and pinpointed it. popped it out, and swung again, still another quarter,
popped it out swung again, ... still another...
we got 6 quarters in about 3 inche area, and a dime I think..
he gave me 3 for helping him,
But as for those old coins comming up in multiples, very rare,

As for your post "dekalb33" I wish you the best of luck, but in my opinion, a new machine,
or paying hundreds of dollars can only do so much for you.
As I have told other friends over the years, the quality of your machine can help but
if there is nothing in the ground to find, no machine will give it to you.
Metal Detectors have now been around for over 40 years, and in the past 20 years
technology has given us the edge like never before, I have found a lot, as have many
people who read this forum,
but these things we find, do not get replaced, and the reality
is that what few old things we get now, generally are things that were left by others before
us, who just swung their machine a little to far one way or the other, and missed a coin or two..
not any type of "UNHUNTED" bonanza...
Maybe that's why your haveing a hard time getting past the "silver boundary"...
Just a thought...

Back when I bought my first machine (BH), I hit a hole in a local park that kept giving up coin after coin. I kept sweeping and digging for the longest time. When I stopped getting beeps, I had dug $2.62 in various clad coins out of one small hole. An experienced guy with a Minelab Explorer had just swept the park and was leaving as I pulled up in my car. Go figure! Needless to say, this really fueled my fire for detecting. ;D

My father found 16 buffalo nickels in one hole.

I found a three foreign silver coins in one hole once, and they had a bullet hole in them!

The only thing better than getting a deep, strong signal and digging up an old silver coin, is running the loop over the hole again and getting another signal!

Several times. My favorite was 2 wheats and a 1938 nazi germany coin.Found 11 in one hole another time.On my MXT sometimes a overload signal is a multiple coin hole.
