I found this today while kicking around the old boat ramp in the Bend. I picked up what I thought was a perfectly round flat smooth rock on the black asphalt at the top of the boat ramp. Then I noticed it looked more like a muffin coming out of the pan. The hole it was in was perfect fit and the top was just wide enough all around to cover the hole edges.
Does anyone know how this came about?

Nice find Ko, congrats!

You might want to go back and excavate around that "perfect hole" and see if the other half of the grindstone is under there?

Good luck!

I am gonna go back and take a picture of where i found it. It was in the poured asphalt at the top of the boat ramp...most likely washed of the hill from the field above and found it perfect resting place...or it would have washed into the river.
