Agreed, an old tin cup. Can you do a pencil rubbing over the punched-hole letters so we can make them out better? Cool relic, Sub8-)

My brother was a Civil War Reenactor for many years they called their drinking cup [and everthing else] a mucket. Could this be Civil War period?
