MT. Antero Aquamarine finds

Hi all
Just thought I would post a few pictures of some of my Aquamarine's that I got off the Mt. Antero over several years that I lived out there. There is one small Florite crystal, several small Topaz crystals on Matrix, and a couple of smoky quartz crystals. These are some of my best finds, I had a bunch of them cut into gems and I sold a bunch of them over the years, these are the ones I kept for myself. We found a pegmatite on one trip that yielded almost 100 pounds of purple, green and clear Florite with some of the crystals 6 inches across. It was a lot of work but it was sure fun. I also dug Amazonite and have a bunch it too. We also found a lot of Rutilated Quartz down by Salida.

Great stuff! I love Aquamarine!

Ash, The area around Bethel has lots of Aqua also. I used to get a lot of it at the Bumpus Quarry in Albany, ME., which is not far from Bethel. The Songo Pond Mine is close by and has produced lots of nice crystals in the last fifteen years or so.

Did you know MeinWV that if you click on 'crop' and use the little expandable box..you can actually reduce the size of your photos and at the same time enlarge the view of the stones?

Yup....... it's Songo Pond I'm thinking of.
