That's Great! It's a good thing that the sister said it was ok. You don't want people thinking that you just go anywhere without permission. The more you ask, the easier it will get. Be sure to get permission before you venture near any mines.
Congratulations on all you finds!

Never ever go on anyone elses property without asking permission to hunt it! Our hobby will be ruined if people do not ask permission to detect others yards. Next time you want to detect someones yard, please ask before you go detect it. Sorry I am so harsh, but I've been taught to always ask permission for places so you don't ruin the hobby for others.

I agree with you 100% Detecting Freak, this isn't the first time he has posted that he detects places without asking. I know he is young, but if We don't keep respect for the Landowners than We will be with no place to Detect. Civil war hunter,if you want to grow up and disrespect others than you may want to find a different hobby.

Lets see whats on my month chart well tomarrow supposed to rain all day so i will try to get the time to speak to the owners that own the coal mine if i can spend a week on the digging plus i will be working on drainage of the concreat holes tons of leafs in them have to un plug them
I designed a drain system on our ditch in the front yard corner but theres like a drop off at the end of the ditch so i put flat rock in and stacked them now water runs over it to give it an wierd type of look an made the ditch deeper so the yard wont flood.

Why do you metal detetorest put your profile name at the bottom, should i start doing that??

We put our names at the bottom to signify that we ask for permission before detecting someone else's property.

lol.

Just to reiterate, you -always- have to ask before going on someone else's property. It might not seem like a big deal to you, but as a hobby we are already looked at as somewhat strange. It only takes a few bad apples to ruin the bunch, and I'm sure you don't want to be one of them. If you don't want to ask permission, just hunt public places like parks. If your school has a playground, those are always great spots to hit, too.

It's easy to disregard rules set down by people older than you when you're young. If that's how you feel, I understand, because I was your age not too long ago. Whenever I hunt private property, I ask permission first (and I'm a hardcore anti-establishment punk). It's just a simple respect thing. We give it to them, they give it to us, and our hobby as a whole benefits.

As a matter of fact you stated that you had not asked permission "yet" but where in fact in tha act of detecting. You then asked for permission once you were noticed. Not only were you trespassing, but stealing if you were digging targets. To call other hunters "retards" for your own mistake is unacceptable. These guys are lookin out for you. But first and foremost they are looking out for the hobby. I beleive you should think before you speak.

To funny...you should ask permission first.

Great finds civil war hunter  If you haven't got a camera, you might be able to scan your finds and show them to us.

A good way to grow through life is; when in any situation, you look at your actions from the other person's point of view. What would you think if your neighbor just came over to your place and started digging plugs (and removing treasure!!!) in your yard?

I enjoy your posts , so keep us posted ;D and remember that
the first word in your user name also means "polite and courteous", Dude.
Cheers, Mike

Hey bud I know you are trying, BUT you have got to ask b4 you start digging holes in a owners yard, esp. if he is that particular about his lawn. ::) I cant tell you how many times Ive asked permission to a site, and got turned down b/c the landowner said that people just come on their property without asking permission, so they dont allow anyone to MD their land. When I was your age I didnt listen either, but I just figured I would say it anyway.

Dont ever be nervous to ask permission all the man can say is no he aint gonna eat or nothin
