Do you know of Richie V. Z from South Africa, lives in Sebastian, FL now, I believe?
He may get you to someone you need.....I know he went back to Africa several years back to work some sites.
I think he is doing real estate right now...I'll keep his last name out for privacy
Good luck,

Trez

I dont know Mr, Richie from South Africa

You can try Gavin Clackworthy in Cape Town, I will email him to see if he is interested. He has salvaged his share of treasure round South Africa. and has a good salvage vessel.

A word to the wise though Licencing in you country is not always clear nor straight forward.

Who issued them, Khatupa?

Hi there
You are well aware of the fact that Risdon Beasley worked every ship down there many years ago,.,.,.he stripped them bare of copper, gold, manganese, and even took the ships bell as a trophy off each one to prove he worked them? So,unless you found a ship that just sank yesterday,Iwould not put too much faith in finding much on a vessel,.,..,but thats up to you,.,.,.best of luck,.,.you will need it,.,.,.and the government is one of the most corrupt in the world as it is run by some cretins mate,.,,.

How can Risdon Beasley be contacted ? Khatupa was the minister of culture long gone, the moz goverment is not anymore so corrupted as you think, things are changeing around the world even in Africa.
Do anyone know of the French team that work here in Mozambique a wile ago !

You want to contact Risdon Beasley huh? Dont you know ,he died in 1981?he not only had the firm Eisdon Beasley,.,.under his name,.,.he was also part of Smit -Tak,and traded under a whole slew of other names too,and had a large salvge fleet working many sites simultaneously globally,.,..,they all were in constant touch with him ,..,,.so unless you have actually seen this gold on on your ship, there is a verystrong chance it was all removed by Risdon when he worked every damn boat along that coast, all the way down to south africa mate,.,.,.he even thoujght about taking the damn props!!heheheheheh,.,..,he was a good operator, one of the worlds very best,.,.,.now,having said that,.,.,.have you actually seen all this gold?and what type of ship is it supposed to be on exactly?
I have the names of all the ships that Risdon Beasley worked ,.,.,.,.and the types of them too of course,.,.,.
if they were a ben,or a Victory,or Liberty,or a Patrick hmm?
i presume you know the differences between ships,so you have to nominate which it is,.,.,.
cheers

There are an awful lot of ships that sank down there particularly the older ones Risdon did not work, in fact the government has very long list of sunken galleons etc.

That said there have many other salvors down there working for years without licence, and of course many others with license. Our own Salvor 6 was down there for a while. and the South Africans have had field day down there. But there are still many virgin ships to be found.

In fact it is one of the hot spots of the world for treasure ships. And incedentally none of them had props to steal.

Risdon was a butcher with his methods, of course there were no laws like now and no UNESCO agreements. But the company certainly lifted a huge amount of stuff from the sea.

Incidentally Veloso may have the list if he is still around, I recall it was a long list too.

wow,.,.,.you learn something every day,.,.,,.,.you say the ships had no props to steal,.,.,..,i do not recall any convoys out of HX with sails,.,..,,.or from Loch Ewe with sails to Hx,.,.,..maybe i missed something there,.,.,.but then,.,.I have only been researching WW II for over 43 years mate? So all the ships sunk by german subs in the lovely Moz Channel were Liberty and Victory saliers,,..,,..,wow,.,.,.,.innerestin' stuff,.,.,.,.just goes to show how much i have to learn in here?
hehehehehhehe
Oh,and by the way?i just happen to have the names of EVERY SHIP in the channel, and all lost of madagascar,.,..,my list of treasure ships has over 60,000 entries,.,.,.and guess wot,.,.,.some of them have props!!,.,.,.

Cablava is talking about HISTORIC shipwrecks (1700 or earlier). They had no props. Beasley didn't get everything. Most of the historic wrecks have never been located. I found the Moz govt. officials to be honest. They are working to rebuild their nation after 15 years of revolution war against Portugual and 15 years of civil war.

Hi there Fogo,.,.,.,.you say you need a list of ships sunk off your coast? i do happen to have a little list of all the ships sunk off your coast, from the early 1500's up to the end of WW II,.,.,.it comprises over 434 vessels in total, many of which were carrying bullion in those days,.,.,.Risdon Beasley concentrated on his WW II ships,as they were very easy targets to find as you know.,,.bit hard to miss a Liberty ship of 7,000 GRT,with all her sails up,.,.,.we know they had sails on them,as i have just been told they had no props by some learned guy in cyberspace?it must have been cos they had sails on them that made them easy to find,as their masts stuck up out of the water at low tides you see?
Anyway,.,..,since I have a lovely list, how much can you pay me for it ok?
Considering how much bullion is on the vessels,.,..,I would think a sum of about US$20 million is a good price? i look forward to your cheque in the mail,.,..,the ships have over a billion in bullion tonage today,.,.,.remember,silver is about US$11.40 an Oz,.,..,gold will top $800 before Xmas again,.,.,.,.,..,cheers

you say the Mozambique govt. is not corrupt?how come they want $100,000 up front just with the application to go searching for ships?funny that,.,.,.i have a letter here stating that from some guy called Pottgeiter in Mozambique,..,,.I wrote back to him and told him if anyone was going for a vessel,it would be within international waters down that way,.,.,.,.or we can all go and do the Verelste in Mauritius cant we guys???Just bear i mind folks,.,.,..,i can call up instantly here, ships ,globally,in my database.,,.,.no mater if it is the Cinque de Chagres or the Concepcion,.,.,.they r all here baby!! And the Verelste has all those lovely 17 chests of diamonds in 20 feet opposite Granda gaube and the village of Oro de Pouvre,.,.,..,4 .5 miles off shore,.,.,.,.
but i do not know much,.,.,.,.I just discovered how much i did not know tonight,.,.,.Liberty ships had sails,.,.,.,.heheheheheh!!!

Hey Fogo, I have over 10,000 ships listed in my shipwreck database. I would be glad to send you a list of all the wrecks in Mozambique for free. I will send it to your email address. I also got all the WW II wrecks carrying gold, silver and platinum lost around the world. It was easy to find in the archives. Anyone can find them. I will sell the list for $20. Its not worth any more.

Hi there,.,.,.thats very interesting, that you say you have ALL the WW II wrecks carrying all that loverly bullion,.,.,.we are very impressed,.,.,.so then you will not mind telling us all,.,.,.just which archives you found ALL the names of these loverly vessels in ?
yours

not to be the voice of the completely obvious, but doesn't tezz sound like the 5 year old on the playground saying "my dad is better than you're dad. nah nah nah nah".

tezz... im thinking a little decorum and deference is warranted to those who obviously know what they are talking about.

Tezz you remind me of why I cannot stand Aussies. I grew up on the border of Mozambique most of the Dutchmen from SA dont know there ass from their elbow let alone a decent wrecks, Aeroaquanauts a Portuguese firm working with Anne Rule (Mary Rose) spent the last few years there? They are still in Mozambique. Fogo, There are more than 400 odd wrecks spewed along the coastline, without a doubt you or anyone half serious with a clear cut contract would do well. An african Govt, is far better than many now adays straight up, at least you know what you are into before you start. Try Shapiro in Cape Town, or several others and remember there are some strange people on this forum. 99* I plan to be home next year from April if you havenot got moving I have several friends some with current operations in and around Mozambique.

hi there 99,.,.,.were you drunk when u wrote this?
I cannot understad what you are trying to tell me here,.,.,.and since the ships in question are within international waters,no govt. is going to be involved,.,.,.but i dont know what it is you are saying here?
