My favorite field was mowed and mowed well. I could finally swing again. Right off the bat I got a faint chirp in the 30's on my Equinox. Popped the plug, ran my hand on the bottom of the hole and I could feel a coin straight up and down and pulled it out. A British half penny, George III, back is toast but I think its 1770's.

Not exactly sure what this is, thought it was a button missing the shank but now I'm thinking it may have been a leather decoration? There looks to be a 1 or 7 on the back.

This thing has me puzzled too. It looks like it was a receiver of some kind. Looks like lead was poured in place around it, maybe in a wooden recess.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

Love the old copper coin! :occasion14:

Awesome half penny thats a cool looking coin and old next time bring your mower if need be to mow yourself when you want to hunt lol

I would have bet 1 million dollars, there were no more coins in that field, but I said that about the coin you found before this one, and the one before that.

''I'm thinking it may have been a leather decoration?''

Its not a button, & your guess makes more sense, but most leather attachments don't go all the way throw a brass piece with the iron pin. I'm thinking it went on wood.

Thanks for weighing in Crusader. I've really been wondering on this. I was thinking the same thing. Do you think it was possible it was on a gun? What else would they have decorated?

Very cool finds

I'm a new nox 800 user. Quick question for you. Do you just hear the chirp and see a number in the 30s consistently? Does it repeat back and forth? It'll take some time for me to understand which deep signals to chase.

I'm not thinking gun, more a small chest/box or furniture.

SP- This one was literally on its side so it was a faint chirp each time I went over it but with the iron in the ground I was getting a lot of jumping as well but the 30 never went away. I almost didnt dig but I've found even with a lot of chaos if a number is consistent there is something there.

It took me awhile to learn the nox but it has made a world of difference. Me and two other guys went over this area a hundred times with the Garrett Ace 400's. Since I got the Nox I have pulled out countless buttons two coppers and two spanish silver from the same spot.

One thing I did to help was watch a few you tube videos and go through the manual. That really helped with the setup and learning all the features.
