Ok lets see what did I watch last night...well it wasn't exactly a movie it was a documentary narrated by John Lithgow called Einsteins Big Idea. It was a history of the most famous equation E=MC2. There were no stars but was well acted. Most of you here are probably history buffs to some extent so if your like me when you watch something like this your eyes focus on things in the setting and on the set, like furniture, landscapes, architecture, everyday items of the time etc...This movie/documentary kept my eyes focused on the setting just as much as the interesting history it unfolded, which went back to the 16th century and the early studies of energy and then mass. It made me feel smart because I understood what was going on, the script didn't bore you with daunting details yet it put things into perspective. I think they probably made it that way so idiots like me could understand better E=MC2 .
I'll give this 8 thumbs up out of 10

Well, you're sorta off in the right direction :tongue3:

To be a real movie critic, you have to watch real movies; none of this straight to video crap  :laughing7:

Another bad move :tongue3:

You want to be a critic you have to work and write immediately after seeing a film, not the next day. You'll be surprised how many details you'll forget overnight. So, get with the program :laughing7:

Don't make me come back here to straighten this mess out either :laughing9:

Beware if you use the sentence "the feel good Movie of the year" to describe a movie,
it better be a New Porkey's or Zombie Flick, or your Fired :laughing7:

Jeff made another great point I didn't touch on. It's best to stay away from all of those cliches like Jeff mentioned above. Using the wrong wording is another way to get us readers pissed off :laughing7:

You see both Jeff and I are music critics and we pull no punches either. So come visit the music forum and see how it's done by real professionals and you'll pick up some great tips too  :laughing7:

You see the thing about being critics is that Jeff and I can agree to disagree

example of good review 8-)

I watched Grosse Pointe Blank from 1997 for the 5th. time last night, still a good move.
John Cusack as the likeable Hit man, Minnie Driver was still young enough to enjoy.
Dan Aykroyd, always funny especially as a hit man. movie had killing & Blowing things up.
Unfortunately Minnie kept her clothes on, but still great movie for the whole family

:occasion14: to the 8th. power

loss of 2 points, one for lack of memorable swearing, & 1 for mini staying over clothed

I appreciate the feedback as I learn as I go:laughing7:...I should have known this wouldn't be easy ... Your right I should do the reviews at night ....I'm glad I have you guys to help me with this.... you guys can be the siskels to my ebert .

Ok well as you already know I watched 51st state last night with samuel l jackson and some other people i don't know...oh meatloaf was in it, I knew i'd seen the guy before...thought he was an old wrestler at first then it hit me ...hey thats meatloaf. I never was a big meatloaf fan. I never liked his songs but id rather listen to those than to watch him act. Samuel l jackson wore a kilt most of the movie which I thought was pretty cool. I might look into getting me one of those. Mom says we're part Irish anyway. I just wonder if I could pull one off as good as samuel?

This movie could have been lot better, I felt a little let down towards the end, because it had a strong start. Jackson was a chemist and he made a new drug that he was trying to market in liverpool (jackson and meatloaf were the only american actors in this movie by the way). Well Of course there were problems along the way and it ends up the drug was just a placebo anyway. The action scenes were pretty good but they just had to throw in those rave scenes not unlike the strip club nightclub scenes where everyone is dancing all over each other and stuff. Are there really places out there like that? Kinda scares me. I just try to keep telling myself thats only in movies. Overall to sum it up this is another one of those movies they make that tries to build a story around the action scenes and it was a pretty lame one at that. I'm gonna give this movie 4 thumbs up out of ten and thats only because samuel jackson looked cool in the kilt.

Yes, we have a thing called good taste :laughing9:

Since you're a younger member I'll go easy on you, but not too easy either :tongue3: Odds are if the kilt was green it's Irish, if red it's Scottish:thumbsup: So, what color was it :dontknow: I need details to steer you straight :laughing7:

Oh, another thing.. Stick to the movie and don't like it because of the wardrobe, otherwise you may want to be a fashion critic :tongue3:

Most of all, just have fun with it :headbang:

Man you guys are very motivational :laughing7: I hope to get better with my next one...keep in mind I've never been a movie critic before.
I'm not sure whats in my lineup for a movie tonight but I am going to start watching the 6 hour long "show" 500 nations. I plan on watching the first part of 4 which is an hour and a half then a movie all while swilling down a bottle of kalua ...nothing like getting soused on chocolate milk :icon_thumright:
