Movie "Into the Blue"

Some of you may have seen this movie already my wife called it tits and ass, yep there was plenty of both....
The theme was 'treasure Hunting with some cocaine to add....
I am young about the same age as the lad in the movie, but hell what a lot of cra..., I am not sure which team rented their vessels to the movie set, nice blowers, nice boats, but the story was ruined and cheesy, you should watch the movie for a laugh, yes I realise finding goodies can be that easy but these guys practically uncover a weck with gold bars etc, freediving and dickin about, I am also not sure who gave them the idea but I wonder who feels that the movie gave Treasure Hunters credit or does it make us the laughing stock, maybe I am wrong but anyone elses views would be good on this,
for the record there are a lot of tits and ass shots. Into the Blue 99* :P :P :P :P

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

i agree with goldfever, i loved the move and i own it. ive also watched it at least 3 times. very good movie about THing

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

Good movie, not sure how real it protrays THing but it was entertaining to me.

Seems like 2005 was the year of the remakes unofficially this was a remake of the 1977 film "The Deep" I don't remember the first one that much its been year since I've seen it, but if your into treasure movies you might like it.

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

I love how they can hold their breath so long. I think they decided to show them free diving because the scuba gear would show off Jessica Alba's lovely features. I think the movie was great. Definately ranks up there with National Treasure, Sahara, Goonies and the Deep.

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

There was a coffee table size book titled 'Galleon Alley" by Bob "Frogfoot' Weller. Did anyone catch that?

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

I haven't seen it yet, but if it was a good as "The Deep", it will be worth seeing.

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

Downloaded the movie last night and just got finished watching. Nice story. What I would call a "12-pack movie". 12-pack of beer next to the couch and enjoy it for what it is....a movie. Does it have anything to do with THing? No, it has to do with finding a lucky strike and complications of having a plane load of cocaine near it. Any research done into finding out what the wreck was? (About a 30 segment in the movie stating what the wreck could be, based on theory and rumor). I really do like the part where everybody can hold their breath underwater for like.....forever. Oh, and did anyone notice that when they did start using dive gear that the type of regulators seemed to change from scene to scene? I did like the shark scenes at the end though....ate one of the bad guys (Do sharks have a sense of morality? Or is that just in the movies? Hmmmmm)

Am on beer number 9 of the 12 pack and have to say that there was not near enough T&A for me in this movie.

But that's just my opinion....

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

Aga and Comms, the chicken carcass from a couple blasts of the blower - looked like my backyard fence after a hurricane not a wreck, yep cheesy but I agree with a lot of the posts, fun..thats it, nothing to do with hunting I would have hoped the guy writing the movie and or producer did his homework better because it could have been far more realistic than the whipper snapper with jumbo lungs grabbing 1800 artifacts with what appeared an eastern/indian style dagger- a case gin for Cornelius and still no one can asnwer who the vessels belonged to? Anyone know? Wreckdiver whos dem boats belong to? Must have been fun filming with all the ass bouncing around, Sol kerzner maybe? 99*

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

Hollywood does not make documentaries. They make movies for entertainment, so the can make money. T+Ass has a certain appeal.
The breath holders were stunt doubles, pro free divers.( Megan Hanney Grier) I have found gold and artifacts while free diving. A good free diver can hold their breath for 3 minutes or more. Most scenes in a film are less than ten seconds.
They used pro treasure hunters as consultants.
I work in both the film ( The Pacifier with Vin Diesel as underwater locations and marine consultant. ) and pro Treasure hunting industry.
I can assure you that there were drug boats and airplanes on the bottom in the areas where I worked on 17 th century sites.
Enjoy the fantasy of Hollywood film making just don't take it seriously.

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

Donovan - I know who you are and you shoot some amazing shots, I also know you have seen more gold than most on this forum. Please tell me who owned the vessels - my question is that I would like to find out more about the one with single blower, I thought I saw it for sale a couple years back in Canada after it had been used off Cuba? I may be wrong, and yes a lot of boats look the same, I was just interested. I also understand about freedivers my late brother was an aspiring champion who died freediving, I grew up with the likes of Plagani and Pipin. Still swimimng that far and working that hard is a little stretched - however yes Hollywood is about movies and fun, so thumbs up I retract my boo, and will watch it again with a pintch of salt when my wife is out. Cheers 99* ;)

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

99,
I am not familiar with those particular boats in the movie. The film was shot in Nassau with mostly Miami based film and water crew.

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

One of the boats was the Sea Robin another was the Canallanis both out of Nassau Bahamas. Sea Robin is a treasure salvage boat, The Canallanis is a salvage boat, towing work, had false blowers.Been on both boats worked on Canallanis.Have our own 50 foot salvage boat.

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

T & A was excellent, other than that...I wouldnt recommend it...my opinion only.

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

I love beach movies and when it involves treasure they are just that much more entertaining for me. I don't recall any nudity but about as close to it as you can get.
I liked the fact that they showed some morals about actually finding a treasure and what was the right thing to do...and I guess it's true to life how greed can overcome many who just aren't of integrity. Happy Hunting. Dan

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

I rented the dvd of Into The Blue and loved it.? First I watched the version shown in the theaters and then I watched half of it with the directors' commentary which was very interesting.? Jessica Alba is a strong diver and Paul Walker has had experience also but has problems with his ears and hurt him most of time during filming.? ?Also the treasure shown in the movie was real treasure found by other treasure hunters.? I really liked the knife they showed in the movie.? I don't think that it portrayed treasure hunters in a negative way, as mvSWAT said it did show the main character had good morals and wanted to legally acquire the treasure. The silver scuba suite that Jessica was wearing attracted the sharks attention but they decided she should still wear it.

Also, they started filming the movie when the water was warmer, and as they continued shooting during the months the water was getting much colder.? They also used a tank for inside shots of the drug plane, but they also had plane sitting on the ocean floor built on a platform that they used for the outside shots of the drug plane.

Even the swimming pool wasn't heated,as the director had told them it would be.? Can't remember what happened but they couldn't get it heated for the shooting.? So the actors were very cold a majority of the shooting.

I also love National Treasure but I didn't care for Sahara at all.

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

I rented it a few days ago, thought it was ok. not much treasure hunting, but it was never supposed to be....I mean come on, they arent gonna make enough money if its just treasure hunting, they gotta add girls and drugs and action lol.

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

who wants to play with the big dogs????? not me.....I would rather pee like a puppy and dive on wrecks every day than to sit back and read about it in a book and then post a thread about it. I watch alot of T&A movies, nothing wrong with it, makes the nights a little more interesting according to my wife. ;)

Re: Movie "Into the Blue"

Please guys lets not turn a topic like this into a pissing contest (ha ha) Spelunker easy there, Cornelius point taken - I posted this to see what response I got and what kind of people made up the Treasure Hunting Community linked to this site, now I know, all sorts, Researchers, enthusiasts without any clue, hobbyists, professionals and famed heros for what its worth. There are a couple new posts on this topic from people who have not visited this forum before or used it often enough (for other`s benefits) Like anything it is just a movie good or bad who knows there are not enough out there to start, as a kid Indy Jones was the flick of choice, nowadays we lack a treasure sniffing hero - thanks for the info onthe boats
