Well, this is me at another hobby of mine.
Fishing will have to make room for the new addiction of MD'ing, unless someone here can figure out how to be at two places at one time ???
I'll save the fishing for the lazy days I guess.

Ahhh, but isn't summer grand!!!

Midwest, northern US and anyone who's going into the the cold winter months...here's wishing you a mild, short, smooth going winter!

Good to see ya!
I used to fish too but gave it up for detecting. That was about 33 years ago. The last time I went fishing was when I had my detector in for repairs. Welcome to the addiction.

Tie your fishing line to your coil, then slowly search for lost treasure along the edge of a lake, your plug or cork and bait will twitch and move slowly as you swing the coil. Be careful, that should work until you hook a big bass, then you will have to retrieve your detector from the water. ;D

Alchemy,

Great to see ya!! Fishing always has been a hobby since I was knee high to a duck. Combining the 2 on our next trip to Grand Isle...fish awhile then have hubby let me off on some of the barriers islands to detect. I've done it in the past, but looking for old bottles. I now have a newer MD so I can find better things.

;) RR

yup, i used to fish too but i always seem to have something else to do since i started detecting! im just glad im not the only one! ;D

Welcome alchemy! We still like to lay a good flyline once in a while but the detecting bug has been with us way too long. ;)

Gad! Do you own a boat?!!!

Naw, no boat...well a paddleboat and 2 kayaks. It's a non-motor lake. Some use rowboats with an electric motor

The lake is only about 50 acres, but the pike and bass are pretty good size.
This summer my little fishing buddy (a neighbor kid about 9 yo) caught a 33" pike!

I think next spring/summer I'll get the little guy hooked on MD'ing too...lol...I'm sure his dad will love me for that
2 years ago I gave him some uncleaned Roman coins and a book about them.

Glad to meet you, I found a few places to metal detect and fish, talk about multi tasking. Also got a canoe this month to hit the river so i I can check out the ravines.

may go ice fishing this year will see :-\
i snagged a 5 pound catfish(about 3 years ago) on a swedish pimple
that lasted about 1 minute on 2 pound test :( >:(
stupid 2 pound test :D

Welcome to the board! Lived quite a few years in Sheboygan, Ja, hey once, down by Prange's. 58 years old, my biggest catch to date has been a pink beach towel in Sand Lake, just West of Eagle River. Unless ya want to count the smelt I caught, but never ate, off the treatment plant South of Sheboygan (gave the catch to my buds who had more to drink than I).
