Kinda what it looks like, But without the set rod..and of course the wood.

Yes, definitely. I've just read that that type of trap, still in use of course, was given a patent in 1894, so although it could be quite old, not quite a civil war mouse trap.
Funny, I went to three sites to confirm that date and none agreed. 1894,1895,1897.
