Mott The Hoople

Saw Queen, Aerosmith and Mott at the Harrisburg Farm Show building. Queen got booed off the stage, Aerosmith just released Get Your Wings and rocked it! Mott was fantastic, All the Young Dudes! Right before Mick went with Bad Co.. I don’t think Hbg. was ready for Queen back then. LOL!

I Don't remember Queen being Advertised at the Farm Show.
Farm Show & Hershey were my First Choices for Concerts, Phillly 3rd.

But I'm Sure if I heard the Name Queen,
I Would have automatically Blew it off. just like hearing the name Billy ray, Would Shut my Hearing Down !
not Even if Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, or the Stones were on the Ticket.
Queen would have Tainted it !
No I Was never a fan of Queen, or the crowd they would attract.
. I Must admit I Liked the one song,
Their Hit, I Don't know the Name of it the one where the singer gets the Death penalty song,
Simply because it got allot of Air Play.

I saw Aerosmith 3 Times at least. I Never saw Mott the Hoople.
I probably would have attended a Mott Concert with the right basckup
Or without Knowing the Backup

We definitely went for Mott. Never heard of Queen back then. Aerosmith stole the show, it must have been the tour for the release of Get Your Wings. They were lean, mean, and hungry. Perry and Whitford were just what rock needed back then. There were some good shows back then. When I was at HACC in 70 they had 2 concerts in the Student Union Building. The Allman Bros. with Duane before he was killed and Savoy Brown, with Kim Simmons and the boys that went on and formed Foghat. They just released Looking In then split up. Kiss at the farm Show, we saw them at The Tower Theater in Philly when they first came out. Joplin and the Kinks at the Electric Factory in Philly. One of my all time favorites was Alice Cooper at the Zembo Mosque in Hbg. They just released Love It To Death and Bob Ezrin for their Mgr(same as Kiss), the audience literally tore the place apart, they set the whole place back on their heels. When you walked out you were stunned. You didn’t know WTF we just saw. A genius or a fool. It took about a week to sink in. After that show The Zembo Mosque never had another concert. Saw Cooper the year before at the Strawberry Fields Festival in Canada when he was on Zappa’s label Straight Records, they sucked, nothing but noise then Erzin got a hold of them, the man with the golden touch. Lots of good shows at the Metron in Hbg. Joan Jett, Smithereens, Romantics, Kix . Ahhhhhhhhhh the good old days! Sound like we have the same music interests, we were probably at the same shows!

I Saw Cheech & Chong at The Zembo If I remember right there was a Gong Show Before Them.

Was OK But all their old Jokes. The one Guy with us Got Reemed out by Tommy for Shouting out the Jokes faster they they could say Them :laughing7:

Also saw Pat Benatar at the Zembo She had a Nobody as a Backup, But she Rocked !

I saw Kiss Twice in the Farm show arena

The first time I saw Aerosmith it was at Albright College in the Gym That was all noise
Bouncing off Cinderblock walls in a Building the size of a Basketball Court, all Echo ,
didn't recognize one song.

Here is a partial list from my scrapbook before I quit counting once the weed kicked in LOL! Looks like Cooper @ The Mosque was June 9,1970. The ticket was $3! Couldn’t find the stub for Mott, was around 74’ I think. Queen 3rd billing, Aero 2nd, Mott top billing. Queen was unheard of back then and they sucked, the audience was literally throwing **** at them. Then a huge fight broke out right in front of the stage. ZZ Top also played the Farm Show, before Billy Gibbons even had a beard! E43E50D5-3D30-4FED-91C7-791667386C06.jpeg02034918-AE30-4BBE-AE33-7B836D85B01C.jpeg

Here is a pix of myself when I was in a band, it was taken at the Mishler Theater in Altoona when we played a concert with Manfred Mann in early 73.9AB175E9-0A1A-42BE-AFD8-E5357B38E638.jpeg

who was the Bend ?

WOW! Missed that one. Bet that was a great show. Just listened to Rainbow Demon a couple days ago. Was that when BOC was using their laser show? Love BOC, saw them several times. Last time was in Balt. with Starz., they rocked. Good video of I pulled the plug on YouTube, check it out. Are you originally from the Hbg. area? I grew up in New Cumberland, moved to Fl. in 98.

Yea I was at the ZZ Top Concert for probably 30 Minutes :( the one Guy that went with us has Serious Knee Issues. We were All sitting on the Floor. Something happened on Stage, That Brought us all to our Feet,
And he went back Down. Because they Carried him out, I Had no Choice But to Follow
or fend for myself Getting home after. So I never got to see ZZ

I only have about Half My Tickets. I wish I Had them all, AS I don't remember All :( :hello2: 70's :headbang:

Bummer about Neil Peart. Now days if you go see a band from our generation your lucky if there are 1 or 2 original members. Sad.....
