Found this ginormis Crotal today. It's about 3 1/8" wide by 3.5" high. A little damaged but it does ding, ding, ding. Found two IHP's and a IHP that was flattened by a train.

Wow...big ole sucker !! Congrats !!

HOLY **** What did that sound like????? Nice work

That certainly is a big one, Congrats.
Not sure what time frame it would be from, sometime in the 20th century, though it's casted.

That's a beautiful bell Doug, what's more amazing is that you found it all in one piece.
I found my largest crotal bell in multiple pieces over numerous trips to a site and hot-glued it back together.

Great save,
Dave

I bet that blew your ears off when you dinged that one! Haha! Congrats on the awesome find!

Have your ears stopped ringing!!! I am thinking that signal could smoke a set of headphone! Congrats that is the largest one I have ever seen:occasion14:

Dirty Digger Doug,

Great find, it looks awesome. Feeling sorry for the poor horse that had to carry that enormous bell around. Good luck with your hunts. Walt

With all the hot rocks and the bell being about 12" deep it was a real iffy signal at first. When top dirt and rocks were removed it hit pretty good. Although I don't remember the numbers on the AT Pro. Thinking around 55. It is the depth that saved it. Hit the other half of the home site today and found two lead bullets.
