So, I'm just wondering what everyone's most unusual finds in a machine wrapped roll are. Particularly in regard to foreign coins. For example, finding British 5ps in a roll of dimes. Anyone have any great stories for things that you wonder how they managed to make it through the wrapping machine?

Pennies: denver US mint set medal(3 of them in 1 box)
Nickels: 7-sided UAE coin(united arab emirates), or Ireland 10p(larger than a US nickel, and reeded edge)
Dimes: 2001 peru 1 centimso aluminum coin(half the side as a US dime and twice the thickness)... piece of cardboard/wood that took up the space of 6 dimes in the middle of a roll)... from same box
Quarters: only did 1 box, nothing interesting.
Halves: 2000 Ecuador 50c or 2007 panama 1/2 balboa.

:hello:

Interesting that a half crown could sneak into a roll of halves, at least a 44 is silver!

And interesting on the aluminum coin and the cardboard/wood and the flat penny.

I don't think its very unusual, but my favorite is Lincoln penny with Abe smoking a joint, lol.

My favorite foreign find, and possibly my favorite find of all was a 1920 british penny, very cool design. Unfortunately this one has been punched at some point (not all the way through) so even though it is in great shape otherwise, i'm sure it is not worth much.

In halves Canada 1945 50 cents, 1955 Great Britain 2 shillings, 1971 France 5 francs, 1999 Australia 20 cents? 2001 Panama 50 centavos? Dimes Ive found coins from around 25 countries

Dimes:

5 pence from Great Britian (I think)
A dime sized coin from Panama with Balboa on one side (found this tonight)
Get this...a steel penny, 1943, in a String roll, found last week

Halves:

1923 Australian large penny in a Brinks roll (I was really hoping it was worth $$$)

I must have half a roll of those Panama balboa dimes by now. They're the same composition as a dime, and the Panamanian balboa is tied to the US dollar, so they're worth a dime, and they circulate mixed with US coins/currency in Panama.

The weirdest things I've found in a roll of halves is one of those old British large pennies. They're almost the exact size of a half dollar, but they have Britannia on one side and the king on the other. ;D
