To find even a singe seated dime is not easy. It never was and still isn't. I remember finding my first one in an old church yard in the early 80s (I got a worn out seated quarter, my first, there too). I had been hunting for several years already by then. It was a long time before I got the next one. Then in 1992 I got seventeen of them over the 27 day course of the Decatur Dig. But the most I ever got in a single day there was three. I beat that two years later when they did new sidewalks downtown in Dundee, Michigan. I got six in one day. The best one was the 1890. You can read about it in my story, The Dundee Dig, found here. Has anyone ever got more than that in a single day?
