This is the prettiest red and gray chert I've seen yet. Picture doesn't do it justice. Its so interesting how many colors of chert come from one area. While none of these are perfect arrow heads - they still are pretty. I assume those large black flint rocks were used for something to make arrowheads since I found them all together. This area I'm looking in must have hundreds of flakes. Unfortunately, so far it must have been where they made them but left mostly rejects. I can't wait to go out once the rain stops and look for more! NW Georgia finds!

Are you near Floyd County? I read about lots of good flint outcrops there but I've never been. I think it's mostly Ft. Payne but there may be other types too. Gary

I'm very close to floyd county. I'm in bartow. I'm amazed daily when I find new colors. I will never be able to walk outside again normally. Now I walk looking at the ground continuously. I even look while cutting grass.

Have you hit the phase where you stare at the gravel while at the drive through? Or day dreaming about all the artifacts that have to be in the field you just drove passed on the highway?

I look when I mow, and found a few. there’s certain areas that take much longer to mow because I’m looking for another

I've never had dreams searching the fields but I had a few during my digging days. I would be digging in the dark, couldn't see anything but could feel the shovel hitting material. As far as I remember I didn't find anything (couldn't see it if I did). This happened 3 times.
