Spent the morning with Neil and Dale at some nice SJ sites. First 2 sites were a bust so hit an old standby and it did not disappoint; as usual. Although I was not happy to see 2 "out of towners" detecting at my regular standby site...

Dug these 3 nice "D" buckles, a decorative trim piece of something, a decorative piece that looks like the lid to a case, and a very cool round button. Not pictured were other interesting relics like horse tacs and brass rivets. The button has a shank that is attached inside the button and it actually moves loosely. The button is copper and is ornately decorated very similarly to the other relics found at this site over time.

Can any button experts ID it for me or just give me an approximate date range, please?

that button is awesome - wtg!

It was a great time even though we didn't find any colonial stuff...but that button may be 1830's.

Here are some better shots of the button. Hoping a button expert can ID it?

Nice stuff Ben. Looks almost like a ball or zouave button but the decoration is thowing me off. Could either be real old or newer. Probably real old. :icon_thumleft:
