Hello to all!
I managed a shorter hunt this morning. I slept in a little and then cut it short when the heat kicked in. Three hours hunt time today.
I hit the last elementary school in the district that has the rubber mats under the big play stuctures. It still had a few sets of swings and some twirly bars that had woodchips similar to the other two schools I hit a couple weekends ago during the contest hunts. One good thing was they tore out a set of monkey bars that were in woodchips and scraped the woodchips into a pile. I found a lot of coins and stuff there. In 20 or so minutes I probably got 40 or 50 coins out of there plus my only keeper, a sterling ring. A very tiny childs ring with a fake diamond. It looks pretty vintage and is barely holding together. Other then that, no keepers.
I also went to new district close to this one and discovered they had pea gravel at their schools so I moved on. I never have much luck making good finds in pea gravel. I headed towards home and stopped by a school I covered last summer and picked up some more coins and trinkets, no more keepers.
So the totals were, 3 hours hunt time, 173 coins for a face value of $11.73. The one keepers silver ring, 2 mood rings, a bunch of other trinket jewelry, and 3 Chuck E Cheese tokens and a local casino token.
Thanks for reading and best of luck to you all. Here's a couple of photos of today's finds.
