The past 2 days I have been finishing up the water in 2 swimming areas of a local state park. I know people hunted there after Labor Day, but the weather has been nice and I was hoping for some new contributions and a few missed leftovers. I used my ATPro to hunt the water and the lower part of the beach. The water is down a good bit so that beach section was underwater most of the summer so I thought I might get lucky.
Day 1 I hunted all of the water and found some cheapy earrings, tabs and foil, sinkers, earring backs, a brass bead, another fingernail shaped whatsit, a tungsten ring, a silver earring, a 14k earring shaped like a leaf and 2 pennies.
I found the pennies and the tungsten ring on the beach. The rest was found in the water. The gold earring was down a bit and only gave a weak iffy signal. But I say when in doubt dig it out and this time it paid off.
Day 2 I went to the second swimming area and managed to cover a good part of it. I did better coin wise with 5 coins with a face value of $.62. I also found more earrings and earring backs, tabs and foil, a brass Guadalupe medal, a stainless nose ring, sinkers, 2 bracelets and the tag off is a piece of jewelry .
A bracelet and 2 earrings are silver. The little jewelry tag says 1/2 C 12k, but I tested it and it is not gold so it probably came from a fake piece of jewelry.
I found an odd piece of stuff that looked like junk, but I tested the 7 stones and they are diamonds. What a shock. I couldn’t find any marks on it so I tested it and it is 12k gold. It looks like it is the top of something, but I have no idea what it is and how it got in the water. Any help would be appreciated.
What a September. I have had 8 hunting days in a row with gold finds and most of those I found silver as well. I think that is the longest gold run I have ever had.
I think I am done with the water for this year and will go back to the land next week. It is very dry here and the grass is turning brown. I need to choose my sites carefully because I don’t want to do any damage and loose my permissions.
Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
