Re: More trinkets need to identify...

All your items appear to be turn of the 20th C.

Watch chain

Rifle shells (I can't help with an ID)

Cameo brooch

Costume jewelry bracelet

Re: More trinkets need to identify...

the items appear to be post civil war to 1900 --- the jewelry from this time frame is called victorian --after queen victoria of england * --cameo's where commonly worn in this era , and the bracelet /necklace looking item appears to me to have the "look" srtyling wize of that era as well ---the shell casing (with maltaese --iron cross --with bulls eye i'll have to check farther on ) henrys were very popular rifles after the civil war * -- so if you found it along with trhe henrys -- most likely civil war to 1900 era

the "orange thing" is a watch counter weight and attached chain that connected to your "pocket" watch--the weight stayed in your vest pocket so that if your pocket watch "slipped" out or fell from your grip it did not fall and break the watch --because the weight in the vest "pocket" with the attached chain --prevent that from happening :icon_thumright:

Re: More trinkets need to identify...

tucked inside the belt would do as well *--- the main thing was to prevent the watch fron falling and breaking the glass or messing up the movement ,

Yeah I think you are correct... but the question now is....Why is a "blank" out in the wilderness in the same place I found the Henry Cartridges?

that ones "blanks" but yours might not have been -- they used it to show the "logo" headstamp mark

The second item appears to be a neck tie clasp of sorts...

Second is a belt mount watch chain. Popular into the 1940's for a pocket watch. Mounted on belt next to pants watch pocket.
Hickock Company made a lot of them...

up till WW2 which made men wearing a "wrist watch" acceptible -- pocket watches were the "mans" watch --wrist watches were for "women"--- the wide spread use of wrist watches during WW2 by men made it "ok" for men to wear wrist watches post WW2 era --and the use of pocket watches faded out by and large as mens "wrist watches" took over.
