Got out with Lookn4Seated today at an old 1860's park in Chicago. I was the first finder on the outing with a 1935 Merc under an old oak tree. I was getting an iffy signal on this one. It was showing bottle cap, but every couple of swing it would scream dime. I pinpointed and found 2 targets about 3-4" from each other. I couldn't lock on to just one target so I figured I would retrieve one and the check other. First I retrieved one of those damn wino' screw caps, filled the hole and checked again. Sure enough, the F75 locked on with a solid dime signal. This beauty was the end resultant! Proud of myself for this one. 8)
A little while later Jon found his Rich man pocket spill. The second and most definitely the highlighted find of the day. Read his post if you haven't. A-Mazing!! While Jon was catching his breath and filling in his hole, I started swing again. A couple feet away I got another signal, pinpointed, and started digging and out pops my first and oldest find to date. An 1883 IH penny in fantastic shape. I was really happy about this one. Another goal checked off the list.
Later came my second mercury dime. A 1920. No story on this one. Just a good deep dime signal and I dug it.
And last but not least, somewhere throughout the day I dug a wheaty. 1919. Old and in good shape. I'll take it!
Well, those are the my highlighted finds of the day. Also took home $3.20 in change, and a pouch full of junk. Thanks for checking out my finds and HH!
