More luck with gold

Two weeks ago I posted the ring in the secong picture below which was an eyeball find while md'ing. My Prizm III would have discriminated it out as foil, so I was extremely lucky to find it. Well today I was hunting a school playground and hit a signal which alternated between zinc and copper penny. I brushed away the woodchips to find a house key. When I picked it up I see it is being followed out of the ground by a gold chain. It turned out to be 18k, not extremely thick or heavy but gold is gold right? After my hunt I removed the key and swiped my coil over the chain. Again, it would have been discriminated out by the Prizm. I'm glad someone thought their house key made a nice pendant!

HEY CZ NICE FINDS!!!!!! DOES'NT YOUR PRISM HAVE A 5 SPOT DISCRIMINATOR ON IT? I HAVE THE MXT AND I TURN IT DOWN TO ABOUT 2 AND IT PICKS UP JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING. MOST OF THE GOLD I'VE FOUND COMES UP AS FOIL AND I DIG EVERYTHING I CANT SEE RIGHT ON TOP. I WOULD TURN YOURS DOWN ALL THE WAY AND JUST CHECK OUT THE SCREEN. HOPE IT WORKS OUT WELL FOR YOU. KEEP ON DIGGIN. THE ROOSTER. p.s. wood chips are easy to dig anyway so why not dig it all.

cz congrats on the gold chain, it is very nice. you really need to dig those foil signals casue that is where a lot of the gold jewlery as well as thin silver braelets are. keep up the good work

Not sure why, but the Prizm won't allow you to lower the discrimination to allow foil. Seems silly if that's where most gold registers...
