Found these in New Mexico around the area of the Aztec Ruins National Monument a few years back. They look like tomahawk heads. I was wondering if anyone had any input on exactly what these are or any other information. I found a bunch of arrow heads and pottery in the area as well. Thanks for any help!

Sorry, pictures do not reveal artifacts.

You were surface hunting at a National Monument? Good luck with that. Fines are heavy if you get caught. Gary

This picture shows they are not artifacts, natural erosion.

I will also go with natural rocks. Good thing you are smart and stay off federal land. I've heard they have to sense of humor whatsoever.

They have none at all....

Kidding of course.
They don?t appear to have a hafting feature. How about showing the other stuff?

All of the following info is from the website link attached.

Around the middle of the Archaic period, our early Virginia and North Carolina residents developed the need for heavier blades in the form of axes. While these axes were no things of beauty, they were functional. They were simply percussion flaked from small boulders (Fig. 10, Four flaked axes from Nansemond County {now City of Suffolk}, Virginia).

Section 1. Revocation of Presidential Actions. The following Presidential actions are revoked: Executive Order 13933 of June 26, 2020 (Protecting American Monuments, Memorials, and Statues and Combating Recent Criminal Violence),

Do you think they might lighten up on picking up artifacts???

They or some appear natural, but in a couple views, they could be real Artifacts....Hack - you should see pecking or heavy wear on the working edges - like they were used...!
