Your pins initials could stand for the old woman's organization called the Royal Neighbors Association. Just a guess.

Nice pin.

I hate to say it, but that's looks very suspect as to it being Gold. All I can say is this, rust won’t stick to gold like that, not even US Standard 10k. The only way iron parts can be fastened to gold is by setting, crimping, glue, etc.

And if that method was used the crest you found (I can’t see that), that would be very unusual, even using parts that can rust on gold is unusual. If it is gold, you should be able to easily pick off the rust that has spread onto the Gold itself.

You should be able to soak the item in household ammonia, and with a little toothpaste on a toothbrush and a slight scrubbing it should look brand new. Gold that has been in the ground almost stays just like it did when it went in, US Standard 10k and up that is.

Thanks for the props too.

Steel pin. That's why the rest of the attachment finding's still intact; only the pin itself rusted away.

This is a nice pin from the Registered Nurses Association "RNA MEMBERSHIP 50 YEARS" The pin is 5/8in. tall, weighs 2.3g. and is marked 1/10 10k G.F. This is a popular collectable pins and you are welcome to return it any time for a full refund

Even the first link PBK posted says that the pin is 1/10 10k Gold Fill, which is 1/10 gold by weight. I suspect that’s the case with the pin that looks like rust was transferred to. We all can see that it’s not marked as Gold Fill, because we can clearly see it’s marked as solid 10k. As I said, rust won’t radiate onto the gold and stick. I'm not talking about talking natural gold.

HH

One more thing, the edges look shakey too, It looks like flaking. If it is Gold, it should clean up and look like the one bigcypresshunter posted.

utility companies used 10k pins like that also. ATT and BellSouth both gave similar anniversary pins. gold ornament but often times cheap metal mount or clip.

We can all see that the RNA pin is electroplated. The copper base metal clearly shows on the RNA letters, no need to do anymore cleaning.

Now on the other hand, that religious metal is the real deal from what I can see. It has a rose gold crucifix riveted onto a yellow gold base, beautiful. When I see that style, it says Mexico to me, great find.

Nice pice--BUT I think it is plated. Reason being the 10k looks to be molded in the piece and the gold in th 10k looks like plate. If it had been stamped the sheen would be duller.
