Hello All!
Just finished up and posted my 100th episode on YouTube:
We got a pile of relics, some silver, Civil War relics, and even some gold!
Here are some highlights:
Got a shield nickel with a date for once—1873!
Dug a sweet sweet silver dime:
We both got some awesome marbles:
I recovered three mid-1800s clay pipes:
I saw this silver thimble peeking out of the ground where it had washed out:
My wife dug this 1840s Blake Folger & Co. button which likely went on a uniform of a worker who worked at their clothing store in New Orleans or perhaps it was an advertising piece. The company lasted until the Civil War, and they are well known in the numismatic community for the hard times tokens produced by the business. Very few of these buttons are known to exist.
I got a low 22 reading and looked down to see gold!
I wonder if it’s a brooch which had a hinged pin on the back. Can anyone ID it? Did they make pins with hinges?
