Rain or not I went out today. Lucky for me it stopped when I got to the site. This is a huge site with so much land to cover so I explored away from the cellar hole today. Not much to show but always fun. Yesterday I found a broken shoe buckle and today I found an intact one. Nice green patina with some rust stains. Any idea on how to remove the rust but keep the green? Not too sure what the little silver plated rectangle thing is but prolly something to do with a saddle? The piece of brass is interesting. It had a sharp point on it but I'm not sure what it is. Thought maybe an awl but it's flat. Also grabbed a nice round ball and the other piece of lead is egg shaped. Thanks for looking.

That button is really neat I can't tell by the pic but is that script going around it?

I like that buckle! Nice finds.

Thanks. Relic dude, it's just a little design around the boarder.

Congrats on getting the intact shoe buckle frame! I found a little clipped corner rectangle like that but mine had hooks on the back. Anyway, I agree they are horse tack.

nice finds congrats HH

Nice finds! As far as the shoe buckle - check out evapo rust(sold at auto parts stores & non toxic) That shouldn't mess up the patina & clean the rust. I've just started experimenting with it so don't hold me to it... I have a lock plate with brass soaking in it & it hasn't affected the patina so far.

Thanks mangum ill check it out
