Hi...
as promissed more finds from the weekend, the first is a hammered coin of :icon_king:Edward1 Canterbury mint belive it or not this was the first signal of the day. A picture of the Celtic Coin cleaned a bit, next we have a broken hammered half penny of :icon_king:David11 of Scotland (ravages of the plough), these finds were from Saturday. Sunday saw us back to the same spot, it was Michaels turn to have the luck in the shape of a Anglo Saxon Silver Sceat (note the Iron build up) my next find is a bit of a whatsit it looks like Gold :icon_scratch: and has a stamp on the back could be part of a snuff box...pics SS

I ment lid...possibly they would have been two lids, the top one decrotive :icon_study:

absolutely stunning finds mate  the little box lid is gold washed silver that type of lion hall mark is on silver & was used from 1756-1896 the date letter R should make it 1812 i think is off a vinaigrette.

Sure looks like gold...can you ID the marks?
Hi Romeo1...Lion and R

A Lion and a R mint mark? Considering your luck and prestige of the Celtic BC gold coin, this gold lid probably belonged to King Richard the Lionheart!

That's it I'm not selling my detector anymore. I'm selling my house, wife and kids and moving to England. Cya!

Sweet! You found my tractor!
Great hunt!

That is a field of dreams, so many rare finds! Congrats on the great relics and HH, Mike

Yeap, the Lion is the Silver Standard Mark  I like the Vinaigrette or smelling box theory. I think they were "duty-dodging" as there is no Kings Head stamp.

Nice finds Double S. I don't see a whole lot of that kind of stuff in my little town parks ;D
